Teammanager’s 

General
1.   All competitor must have had a successful heart-, lung or heart-lungtransplant

2.   The transplant must have taken place not later than 6 months before the Games and all competitors must be free from complications and has trained for the sport he/she is going to take part in. 

3.   Each competitor must have a certificate of medical fitness completed by a doctor from his/her transplant unit issued not earlier than 6 weeks before commencement of the Games.
If such certificate is not complete or not satisfactory the person concerned will be denied participation. 

4.   Each competitor may take part in maximum of 5 events (+ volleyball and relays) The LOC will endevour to facilitate all participants in their chosen events however scheduling difficulties may arise necessitating some alterations. Team managers vvill be consulted and adviced regarding any such changes. 

5.   Each sport is governed by the International Regulation unless specified otherwise in this document 

6.   All participating national associations are required to have paid all outstanding membership fees to EHTF before entering the Games. Individual athletes from non-member countries may however participate against payment of a "NON-EHTF- Starting fee" 

7.   Athletes are not permitted to change events during the Games but obliged to report to responsible authority well in advance of the event in which he/she is participatng. Names of participants in teams or relays may be reported in the morning of the event. Late registrations for new events must take place at the latest the night before the event. Cancellation must be reported in the morning of the event, except for medical reasons. In such cases cancellation may take place at any time. 

8.   The organisers cannot be held responsible for any accident to persons or for damaged or lost property. All participants must carry proper insurance for accident, health and property. The organisers should however arrange for a Iiability insurance coverage. 

Age categories ( Men and women) 
The following Age Categories will apply to all Track and Field, Swimming and Racquet Events (excl. Golf).
In doubles, the age of the younger of the pair will apply 

Juniors under  18
Adults  18-34
Seniors   35-44
Veterans 45-54
Super Veterans 55-59
Old boys and Girls 60–

The age of the competitors on the opening date of the Games will define the age category.

Players with max HCP 18 in one competition and players with HCP 19 or more in one competition. 
Minimum requirement for playing; "Green card"
Handicap certificates shall be submitted 

Tennis
Men's singles: One set match to Quarter-final. Best of three in Semi-finals and Finals 
Ladies singles: As above. 

Badminton 
Men’s singles and doubles: One game of 21 points to Quarter-final. 
Best of three games to 9 in Semi-final and final 

Ladies singles and doubles: As above 
Doubles may be also mixed. Round Robin system. 

Table tennis
Men singles and doubles: One game of 21 points to Quarterfinals. 
Best of three games to 21 in semi-finals and finals 

Ladies singles and doubles: As above 
Doubles may be also mixed. Round Robin system 
In raquette events last Games semi-finalists - if possible - should be seeded 

Cycling
 Men and ladies 20km Race: All start together. Own helmets and toe clips are compulsory. Participants must provide for their own equipment. 

Volleyball
 International rules. Teams of 6 players with maximum three substitutes, men or women.
Best of three sets to 15. Points for every serve. Finals may be played with changing serves depending on the schedule. A mixed (international) team may take part but are not eligible for the Jean Marc Charlot Trophy

Additonal events 
The Local Organising Committee may include one extra national sport to the schedule. It may be a demonstration or - if possible - a competition between national teams. 

Medals
Gold, silver and bronze medals are awarded for the 1 st, 2nd and 3rd places in all events. In the racquet events losing semi-finalists receive a bronze medal. The organisers have the right to combine categories in competitions but medals must be awarded in each category. 

Results 
Copies of final result must be available to EHTF Management Committee at the end of the Games. 

Special Trophies
In addition to medals there are four special awards: 

The “EHTF Cup” 
A special EHTF Cup will be awarded to the “Athlete of the Games” 
There will be one cup for MEN and one for LADIES 
The rules are as follows: 
All competing athletes at the Games may compete for this special award 
The intention is the cup is to honour the athlete who has proved to be the most prominent in a variety of sports. 
Each competitor may take part in maximum 5 events 
Points may only be awarded for one event within each category of sport as follows
- One event of running 100m or 400m - One event of running 800m, 1500m or 4000m
- One event of swimming (individual) - One event of tennis, badminton or table tennis
- One event of shot put or ball throwing - One event of long jump or high jump
- Cycling 
- Golf

Points are awarded with
- 3 points for gold 
- 2 points for silver
- 1 point for bronze
The competitor with the highest number of points will be the winner. 
In case of a draw the Judiciary panel will decide the winner considering all facts e.g. comparing the results, the level of results, number of rivals, age of competitors and so on. 

Jean Marc Charlot Trophy 
This Trophy is instituted by friends of our late member, Mr. Jean Marc Charlot from France who was one of the founders of the EHTF. The Trophy was provided jointly by the French Federation of Heart and Lung Transplant Associations, Mr Fernand Cury, President of the ARGC for the Rhône Alpes region and Mr and Mrs Henry Denneville. The Trophy will be awarded to the volleyball team which has won a medal at the volleyball tournament and has the lowest average age of its players. 

The VHT Cup 
This cup is awarded by the Austrian Heart- and Lung Transplant Association (Österreichischen  Verband der Herz- und Lungentransplantierten) to the best lungtransplanteed male and female sporters of the Games.

The Geoffrey Finnigan Trophy 
This cup is awarded by mrs. Ann Finnigan, in memory of her late husband and the first president of EHTF, Geoffrey Finnigan. This cup is awarded to the best overall competitor in racquet events in the Old Boys and Girls age catergory. Criteria; Awarded to the best competitor,male or female with the most accumulated points from winning medals in Badminton, Tabletennis or tennis.
Points are awarded as follows; Gold: 3 points, Silver; 2 points, Bronze 1 point. 

The Peter Hansen Trophy 
This special revolving trophy, which was awarded for the first time during the games in Helsinki in 1994 is awarded to the organisers of the next Games in memory of our late Dutch member, Peter Hansen, who was among the 9iery first persons to build co-operation between European heart and Lung Transplant Associations and who organised the first Games at Gorssel Netherlands in the year 1989. 

Miscellaneous
The athletes participate at their own risk. This means that they must arrange for sufficient insurances covering all possible injuries and/or accidents as welt as loss of and/or damage to baggage. It is not permitted to change events during the Games.
Each athlete must report in advance. Only the names for players in teams for relays and volleyball may be nominated in the morning of the went. Late registrations may take place latest the day before the event. Except from farce majeur, cancellations of events may take place at the morning of the event Cancellation of events for medical reasons may take place at any time.

Teammanager’s 
Duties Distribute invitations to the games to members together with all necessary information as welt as Registration forms and Medical forms.
Collect Registration and Medical forms from the members and accompanying persons.
Collect and deposit all monies due.
Submit in due time all appropriate forms together with a Summary form. 
Pay in due time any advances to LOC and the balance when due. Ensure that the amount paid is correct. 
Prior the dispatching the Medical Forms (which also is a vvaiver of liability) ensure yourself that the forms are correctly filled in and signed both by the competitors as welt as a doctor from the competitors transplant hospital.
Attend Team Manager Meetings and pass on all relevant information to Team Members. Collect and distribute all information packs on arrival.
Ensure that team members report for events on time. 
Report any changes in entries to appropriate persons in accordance sith the rules. 
Ensure non-competitors do not encroach to competition areas. 
Team managers are responsible for the total organisation of their own Team. If at any time they are unable to take care of required duties, they must appoint a deputy.
